Surfboard repair FAQ
How much does surfboard ding repair cost?
Small dings up to an inch run $40 to $60 on polyester (PU) boards and $50 to $70 on epoxy, with a $50 shop minimum on everything except a single very small ding. Medium dings are $70 to $140 and large dings $115 to $250 depending on construction. The full list is on the pricing page.
How long does a repair take?
Small repairs are usually done in 2 to 4 business days. Major work such as delamination, structural repairs and rebuilds takes 1 to 3 weeks. Rush service is available for $30 to $75 when the schedule allows.
Where are you located?
Resin & Rail is based in Menifee, California, in the Inland Empire. Drop-off and pickup are by appointment. There is also a weekly pickup and drop-off run along the coast.
Do you repair epoxy boards and SUPs?
Yes. PU and EPS/epoxy surfboards, longboards, soft-top fin and plug issues, and stand-up paddleboards, including delaminated decks.
Can I still surf a board with a ding?
Not if the ding is open. If you can see foam or cloth, or catch a fingernail in the crack, water is getting in. Keep it dry until it is fixed. A wet board is heavier, weaker and costs more to repair.
Will the repair match my board's color?
Repairs are structural and watertight first. Color matching is available for an extra $20 to $50 when possible, but an exact match cannot be guaranteed, especially on tinted, sprayed or sun-yellowed boards.
